Green Talent Show 2019

Mercy education office partnership with the office of Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation Franciscans Africa (JPIC), Center for Social Justice and Ethics at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, the Capuchin TV, and Mother Earth Network organized for the Green talent show which was held at Huruma Girls’ Secondary school on 16th March 2019. The main goal of this event was to bring together lovers of environment to sensitize them on the impact of climate change and clean energy under the theme LIVING A GREEN LIFE, GROWING WITH A GREEN FAITH, MAKING A GREEN SCHOOL.

It was a platform of sharing their experiences, speaking of climate justice, renewable energy and the anti-fossil fuels struggles through different talents like: songs, poems, spoken word, motivational speeches, drama, and dancing. There was also tree planting activity for those celebrating their birthday in the month of March followed by cutting and sharing of cake. The event hosted 150 participants from the six Mercy secondary schools belonging to interfaith and environmental clubs together with their teachers.
