Activities involved tree planting exercise courtesy of Environment department of Nairobi who donated 200seedings. 50 seedlings were planted at MIRC compound, 50 at OLM Primary South B in the school section, 50 in the Sisters of Mercy section at OLM Primary South B and the remaining 50 at OLM Secondary South B.
Sr. Rose and the youths took a chance to encourage all to be lovers and protectors of our environment which in return will reward us abundantly. She asked the participants to be on fore front in shunning all activities that are detrimental to the well-being of our environment as we lead by example.
Addressing his viewers and listeners during the midday Regina Caeli prayer on Sunday, May 17, Pope Francis announced the start of the “Laudato Sì” Week across the world that will conclude on the anniversary day, Sunday, May 24.
“In these times of the pandemic, in which we are more aware of the importance of care for our common home,” he said, “I hope that all the common reflection and commitment may help to create and strengthen constructive attitudes for the care of creation.”
