In February 2018 the team held its first work meeting at Child line Kenya offices along Lower Kabete Road, Nairobi. The agenda was a Case Conferencing forum where members got an opportunity to converse on child protection cases they had handled, the emerging challenges faced and got advice and guidance from professionals
In April the Sisters of Mercy Education Office together with our MPC counterparts were honored to host over 45 NCPT members from the different organizations at the MPC multipurpose hall. The purpose of the meeting was to continue with discussions on strengthening child protection systems in Nairobi in order to improve service delivery to children.
During the year Mercy Education officers attended two more meetings organized by NCPT in July and December. In July the focus was on adolescent mentorship using Gospel values.
Also in December the two Mercy Education officers attended the International Conference at KICC which was organized by NACADA with a purpose of coming up with tangible and practical ways of Prevention of drug and alcohol abuse especially among school going children and youth
